Kenilworth 3rds continued their run of success putting 30+ points past a spirited Warwickians side that never gave up despite needing to borrow a couple of Kenilworth players for the benefit of the game. Kenilworth controlled the match around 9 and 10 with consummate ease, centres RB and Rhys Jones (the master and master's apprentice) combining well with the shirt tails of George Trafford, Jones' in particular carving holes in the Warwicks' defence with his refusal to be tackled, repeatedly breaking the Warwicks' line. Kenilworth opened the scoring with a masterful display of footballing skills from Povey.......requiring the speed of a gazelle to beat the man and a deftness of touch to nudge the ball over the try line, pounce, and score - truly amazing stuff. Ownership of the remaining tries is a little blurred.....(answers on a postcard to Tim please....).........Ross got two (....i'll just repeat that - the prop got 2, and running was involved), George must have got at least one - and the same for Rhys....... Johnno and Mark T ran amok combining well at wing and full-back so I suspect they probably scored once or twice, and the same can be said for Jenks and Andy Honess who enjoyed romping through a committed Warwickians defence on more than one occasion, along with the rest of the .......oh, and Founts got one (of the three he should have.....). All played well - and our thanks go to those who put on a Warwickians shirt at one stage or another. The New Zealand game was better.........but only just. Kenilworth 3rds 32 Warwickians 10 (....I think?).
