Great performance by a scratch team of Babas against a highly organised Warwick Uni team who had spent the week training together. Outstanding performances for the home team from Dan Roberts, Jamie Higgins, Guy Grindlay, Andy Bladon, Paul Grenney & the Povey boys Max and Jake. Special mention should go to Dan who had travelled a remarkable 600 mile round trip to play, shading out Andy Bladon and Jamie who travelled a mere 180 and 100 miles respectively! Andy Rapley played with his customary entusiasm while the team were led by Captain Cool Rhys Jones. Up front Ross Lothian tested the tensile strength of lycra to the max , while the pack of Jonny's (Fox and Openshaw) competed manfully. Rob Gardner Dave Stephens and Tom Egg were handy subs. Alex Selby looked a class act at 9 but sadly had to lead the field early with an ankle injury. His kit was looted by Bruce Storey, who made a very welcome return to Kenilworth colours after a long abscence! Paul Povey showed his usual malice aforethought in midfield, while new boy Tim Warner and the returning Guy Grindlay looked handy on the wings. Nick Rowley was a brave convert to fullback.
