First Call for Volunteers for the M&J Festival
Club Dinner is on 6th May

• An amazing game at Bournville last week when we lost the first half 3-40 but won the second half, 36-26, only to lose the game 39-66 but gain a bonus point through our six tries and, strangely, move up to 7th in the league! Sophie’s report is on the web site. There were also big wins for the Colts (72-0 at Earlsdon) in the first round of the Warwickshire Colts Cup and the 3’s (with some 2’s) 65-10 over Old Leamingtonians. A brief report on the Colts win, with Ollie Jones scoring six tries, is on the web site.

• The game this Saturday is a big one when we entertain Bridgnorth, the current league leaders, at 2.15. Bridgnorth lead the league by four points with games in hand and they have had ten consecutive wins so it will be a real tough test for our boys. The Sophies will be tweeting and the programme for the game will be on the site from Friday noon.

• The Bridgnorth game is being jointly sponsored by Andrew Whiting Wealth Consultancy and Mills & Reeve, Solicitors and they are hosting a pre match lunch for their guests.

• The only other game this weekend are the Ladies who play away at Essington on Sunday. The Cavaliers were down to play Old Leamingtonians but they have cried off the fixture and with no game in the pool there is no game. The Colts game at Newbold has also been cancelled due to the recent death of their President, Alan Bale.

• The St David’s Night on the 11th March is close to a sell out but there are still a few places if you fancy it. Full info on the St David’s Night is on the web site.

• A note for your diary is the next Former Players Lunch, 5th March v Crewe & Nantwich.

• We are now a registered Community Club with Wasps and if you buy your tickets through Kenilworth RFC then we receive a cash back. The link for this is on the home page of the web site.

• On the 16th April there is another Ladies Lunch and more info on this will soon be available.

• Last weekend our Girls Tag Team headed off to Shipston Rugby Club for a West Midlands Girls Tag league tournament. They travelled with seven players for the seven aside tournament in Shipston and ended up second in the fourteen team tournament! Well done girls!

• The M&J Festival is on the 23/24th April. On both days there will be a huge number of kids and spectators and we need volunteers for working the bar, BBQ and shop. It would be good if everyone from the club contributed to this superb event and if you would like to assist on the day then contact Kerry Kirwan (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or Peter Blakeman (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)

There are two tickets for France v England (19 March in Paris) available and if you are interested then contact Rob Blacklock on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
