Dear KRFC Member,
As you are probably aware both our grounds have been identified as Preferred Status for housing development in the WDC Local Plan which was approved on 23rd April. This is fantastic news for the club and we have exciting times ahead. So we felt that it is important to update our membership with what actions we are taking to progress this matter. Please rest assured that before any decisions are taken we will fully consult the membership.
We own the 3.8 acres at the Main Ground and have a 999 year lease on the 18 acres at the Cow Patch which means there are relatively large sums involved. Therefore we feel it necessary to employ professionals to advise us on all aspects. However, some of these matters are commercially sensitive so we are not able to make them public knowledge, as it could erode our negotiating position. However to give you a summary of what we have done to date follows:-
1) We have formed a Ground Sale Group mainly made up of former Committee members to make recommendation of the best way forward in terms of the sale of both grounds. We are waiting for the M&J's AGM in the next week or so for them to appoint representatives to this Committee.
2) We have also formed a New Ground Committee, made up of members from across the club, to begin drawing up a specification for a new clubhouse and ground. We have already identified three potential sites and are looking further into their suitability.
3) In terms of professional advice we have appointed the following to advise us on this matter :-
i) Harrison Beale & Owen – Accountants – Rob Kendall
ii) Subject to agreement we are looking to appoint - Wareing & Co - Independent Property Consultants, Chartered Surveyors and Agents – Bill Wareing - jointly with Bromwich Hardy Property Consultancy and Agents.
iii) Frampton & Co – Planning Consultants - Peter Frampton.
iv) Wright Hassall – Solicitors – Nick Abell
These matters – subject to the areas where there is commercial sensitivity - will be discussed at the AGM which is on Wednesday June 25th, at the club, starting promptly at 20.00.
