CLUB PRESS RELEASE ON GROUND SALE & RELOCATION
Over the past two months the Club has been in contact with a number of potential developers who would be interested in purchasing our site known as "The Cowpatch". No discussions have yet taken place on the Main Pitch and Clubhouse site. As yet no developer has been appointed and we, together with our professional advisors, will continue with this important selection process to ensure the best possible deal for the Club.
The location designated for the new Club facility (at Bullimore Wood) has now been agreed within the Local Plan. Notwithstanding this we have yet to agree with the current land owner the terms and conditions under which they would be prepared to sell the land to us. These negotiations are ongoing at this point in time, but nearing conclusion.
A transition plan has been drawn up which would see the Club starting to use the new facility for the start of the season 2020/21 at the earliest. This timing assumes that we are able to achieve certain key milestones. Failure to achieve these critical path points would result in a season on season slippage of the programme since, under RFU rules, we must maintain continuity of facilities during the re-location process.
Clubhouse and Pitches
We have now had confirmation that we will be able to accommodate 5 senior and 2 junior pitches along with the clubhouse and parking within the land allocation, this being mainly to the east of the railway line but with two pitches on the western side, bordering the access off Warwick Rd. It is proposed that we have 1 x 3G pitch with the rest being conventional grass pitches. The schedule of accommodation for the design of the new Clubhouse is ongoing. The building concept would be a 2 storey construction and would include a multifunctional sports hall on the ground floor. As yet no schematics have been prepared for the clubhouse but it is hoped that we will have a first sight schematic by the end of November.
