Having recognised the need to create more opportunities to allow Women and Girls to actively participate in sport within the area, a group of experienced players came together to create this new setup. Whilst all skill and ability levels are welcome to join, a primary aim is to work with new players who would like to try rugby for the first time, as well as under 18s who are moving towards contact. The club will be creating a safe and friendly environment where every player will be made to feel welcome and valued. The newly formed side have got the luxury of having a very skilled coach with 24 years of coaching experience and many more playing years under his belt. 'I am feeling very excited and enthusiastic about this new venture. Coaching women's rugby and seeing ordinary women achieve greatness by playing excellent rugby brings so much joy to me and I am committed to making this a great success' stated Coach Tim Burden.
Whilst Kenilworth have had an established Girls Tag rugby side for some time now, there hasn't been an opportunity for the older girls to make the transition into contact until now. Kenilworth Chairman Peter Blakeman said 'This could be the missing part of the jigsaw and I am delighted that the ladies chose to set up at Kenilworth. I feel that the timing is right for the club and the establishment of a new section within the club falls in line with our current ambition'
